When we first stood in this space months ago, there were no studio lights, no artwork adorning the walls, and no sound system filling the room. It was an empty shell—a raw, quiet space holding nothing but a big dream and a massive promise.
From day one, you believed in the blueprint. You showed up for our early gatherings, poured your love into our events, supported our community media, and helped turn a vision into a living, breathing reality. Because of your unwavering belief, Colman Commons is officially ready to open its doors to the world.
More Than a Venue: A Home for the Culture
Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, right where historic Pioneer Square meets the revitalized Waterfront, Colman Commons is so much more than an art gallery or boutique event venue.
It is a sanctuary and gathering place—a 4,000+ square foot ecosystem designed for artists, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and neighbors to connect, collaborate, and create lasting impact. It is a home built by the community, for the community, where authentic Black storytelling, independent media, and radical creative expression thrive on their own terms.
