Who We Are
Colman Commons is a 4,000+ square foot gathering place rooted in a simple truth: our culture deserves a permanent home.
We are a living, breathing ecosystem built by the community, for the community. From the ground up, this space was envisioned as a sanctuary where artists, visionaries, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, and neighbors can come together to create, organize, celebrate, and belong.
Anchored in Partnership with Converge Media
Seattle knows and loves Converge Media as the most trusted, unapologetic voice for independent Black storytelling, culture, and local journalism in the Pacific Northwest.
Colman Commons is proud to serve as the physical home and cultural anchor for Converge Media.
When you step into Colman Commons, you are stepping onto the very floor where history is documented and culture is made live. Our space serves as a broadcast hub for Converge’s flagship programming, from The Pop-Up! and We Live In Color to live community tapings, town halls, and gallery activations.
