SOLEstory: A Conversation About Sneaker Culture from the Maker Perspective
SOLE STORY: Is the sneaker game dead — or just being pronounced dead by people who didn't build it? Five lifers (restorers, customizers, stylists, strategists) on how the game lives and who it lives for. Hosted by Takiyah Ward inside The RETROspective. Sat 7/25, 4–7PM, Colman Commons.
RETROspective - Public Open
Thirteen original artworks — one for each Air Jordan silhouette, 1 through 13 — magnifying the materials that made the world obsess: tumbled leather, python embossing, foam midsoles, rubber outsoles. Created by Takiyah "TDUB" Ward — the Seattle artist behind the 2020 Black Lives Matter street mural and founder of The Re-Sole 206, the region's only sneaker care facility — the show treats the most influential footwear line in history as what it is: revolutionary design, peak form and function.
